Call of Duty Black Ops directx error

I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro 13" running windows 7 under bootcamp. I've previously been using xp and installed Call of Duty Black Ops and it ran slowly. I upgraded to windows 7 64bit to make the most of my ram but it now won't run Black Ops. When I try launching the game it pop up an unrecoverable directx error. I have been trying to reinstall directx using the new versions and also the one on the install disc. Anyone know how to sort this problem out?

Hello Ed, I to am running Windows 7 32Bit Home edition. I have the same error, when I go to start it up it won't even get to the first loading screen before it gives the error. I have looked in other places for the awnser but all of them seemed to be able to get it working for a bit before it gave them the error. I'm new to windows and stuff, so if you could explain how to do it step by step that would be great.
Thanks for all your help in advance 🙂
