Red circle with a number in it on the icon. What is it?

Hi,
There is a red circle with the number 1 in it on the iCal icon on my Dock . Can't seem to figure out what it means. Does anyone know?

Gerry,

That means that you have an event invitation. Click on the envelope icon in the bottom left corner of the iCal window to display the invitation and choose what to do with it.
