Resetting the ipad

Hello,

I have a 16G ipad. I'm selling it to my cousin, and I don't want him to have access to my account/music/videos, ext. on the ipad.

How do I reset the ipad so it is the same way as when you first turn it on?

Mac book, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

You should be able to do a restore back to factory settings (i.e. not restoring from a backup) via iTunes as described on page 164 of the manual if on iOS 4.2, or 139 if on iOS 3.2 (both manuals are available at http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad if you don't already have a copy).

Alternately, you can Erase all content and settings: Choose Settings>General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Enter your passcode if you have one. This resets all iPad settings to their original values
and erases all your information and media.

Will either method erase the name on the IPAD? I just bought a used IPAD and want to reset everything including the name.

I have 3G model but dont have an account I only connect thru WIFI in the house. Do I need to worry about the sim card? I am selling old one to my son. Could if I have too, just switch sim cards?

I bought one second hand that gave me a new set up screen, so was probably reset, but it remembered the name of the previous owner. I reset again and it was mine, then I reset again and it was nobody's. I dont' trust reset. I think i'm going to reinstall software as a download through itunes. Might be a bit more thorough
