Does not see expresscard slot card reader when waking up

I have an open case since mid 2010 regarding similar expresscard slot issues. I own a couple of expresscard/34 devices and none of them is functioning properly:
- Transcend SSD 32GB -> wake up from sleep problem
- Sonnet 21-1 card reader -> dto.
- Delock card reader 18 in 1 -> dto.
- OCZ Slate SSD 32GB -> not being recognized when Mac boots up
- Verbatim SSD 64GB -> Airport drops (disconnects) when SSD is being accessed
- Sony memory card adapter -> wake up from sleep problem
- Delock Expresscard to USB adapter -> not working (USB devices not properly detected)

I had the chance to test some of these devices on 2 different 17" MBPs at a local Apple dealer. Both MBP showed exactly the same problems as my MBP does.
All of the above devices do work without a hitch on my old 15" MBP mid 2008 (no unibody).
As already said at the beginning, I'm waiting for about half a year for a solution.

Do you perhaps have a 2008 / 2009 MacBook Pro as I understand they do have problems with there express slots ?

I have the same problem with my MBP, but it wasn't always the case. The Sonnet 21-in-1 card reader used to wake up from sleep just fine. Not sure which update broke it.

Have you been able to resolve your issue? I am also having the same problem and have to pop the Expresscard out and reinsert it so that it can work. Very annoying but this was not always the case. It seems it started after the last OS update.

I too am having the same problem and I agree with you that it wasn't always the case. It seemed to happen around Oct or Nov last year. Have you tried the Genius Bar yet?

It works fine until I put the computer to sleep. When I wake the computer, the reader no longer works. I have to take it out (which not easy) and put it back again for it to work. This is very annoying and I would really need this to work properly.

Can anyone suggest anything about how to make this work? Is it the ExpressCard that's not waking up after sleep, or is there something wrong with the OS, or the computer? It's a late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro.
