Digital booklets in iTunes

I recently bought an album on iTunes that included a digital booklet. Usually, digital booklets show up in your iTunes music library as a PDF. However, when I copied the album and Digital Booklet to another of my computers by the "add to library" menu option, the music was correctly placed in the Music library, but the digital booklet went into the Books library in iTunes and I cannot move it to the Music library where it should be. Is there a setting preventing me from doing so? Or what am I doing wrong?

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

I am having the same problem. Many of my DB's don't show up in the music library in the iTunes window, but many do. Some got thrown in the Books folder and when I try to move them they disappear. Where are these digital booklets supposed to live?

Given that iBooks supports PDFs and iTunes will manage any Digital Booklets purchased as part of an album from the iTunes Store, the default is to put imported PDFs into the Books source. Select the item in iTunes, Get Info. and on the Options tab set the media kind to Music. On the Info tab ensure the Name is set to *Digital Booklet - Album* and that the *Artist, Album Artist, & Album* fields match the rest of the album.

My problem is that while the pdf's are indeed listed if I drill down to the iTunes library music artist folders, they are NOT listed in my iTunes directory. Therefore, I cannot select it in order to change it to a "media" type of file or change its name.

Create a smart playlist with the rule *Name contains Digital Booklet*. This will reveal all digital booklets imported into the library. If the booklet in question has yet to be imported then drag & drop it onto the library source. Then proceed as above, setting the Media Kind and Album/Artist details to link it to its album.

Thanks for the help. I just updated my OS to Snow Leopard last night along with iTunes 10 and it looks like everything got organized. The booklets are where they are supposed to be. Now if I can just find what happened to a Tom Petty Highway Companion movie file . . .

My problem is I have bought several albums from Itunes and I have yet to EVER have it download the digital booklet I was supposed to get with it. It doesn't appear in the music folder, in any kind of books library, or anything. And I have yet to find any place to allow me to download it *again* (even though it never downloaded to begin with).

Maybe it's a slightly different case, but I purchased an album on my iPad while visiting my parents, then used Dad's computer to check something on my account. While logged in, it promptly downloaded the digital booklet to THAT computer which is a few thousand km from where I live.

Today when I got home, it happily transferred the music from the album to my home computer itunes library, but completely ignored the digital album.

There SHOULD be a way to get it here...

Digital Booklets don't download to your iPad, but they will download to any computer registered for automatic downloads from your account.

If you want to view the Digital Booklets on the iPad then once on your computer you could change the media kind to Book, or drop a copy into the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.

As for the particular booklet you mention, just get your Dad to email you the PDF so you can integrate it into your library.

That's all very well, but at present from this computer there's nothing showing as available for download.

If I check for available downloads I get the response that all purchases have been downloaded for this account, which is true, but one file was downloaded in the wrong place.

I generally don't use automatic download functions because I'm in Africa and need to control things like that. I've turned it on, and nothing's happening.

I suspect Digital Booklets fall into the category of one-time only downloads, which is why I suggested that you get your Dad to email the copy that downloaded to his computer...

...then used Dad's computer to check something on my account. While logged in, it promptly downloaded the digital booklet to THAT computer which is a few thousand km from where I live.

Actaullly turingtest2's hint helps, however the "track" name of the booklet is not of any importance. Last but not least you might need to set the album name on all tracks that belong to the same album to an new name first, then rename it back to the original one.

As you say, the Name doesn't affect where in the library the booklet gets placed, but for consistency one will normally want to match the form used by the iTunes store, i.e. Digital Booklet - <Album>. I seem to recall the first couple I downloaded had the album name first, but it was a long time ago now.
