"Selected Folders" greyed out in iTunes

I'd like to sync multiple photos to my iPad, however I cannot manually drag the photos over, nor can I tell iTunes to select multiple folders to sync. I have 'Synce Photos From' checked but I can only select a single folder there and I cannot find any information on my problem.
