FaceTime won't register Hotmail email address

I got the daughter a new touch 4G for Xmas and want it setup prior to Xmas day. I went on FaceTime on touch registered a new apple ID with a hotmail email address and using a capital letter and numbers as suggested in forums. However it gets stuck on the verifying stage and says check email address for verification link. I did and nothing came even after doing resent numerous times.

So I registered another email address to theapple ID online, a gmail one and I got the verification email within seconds. I deleted the gmail one (as it's mine), tried the hotmail one again and nothing.

My daughter only has this email address anyone tell me why hotmail one won't work? Or any support please I wanted this all setup for Xmas

oops iPhone auto correct!! Should say Hotmail address on subject not Hoffman!! 🙂

Well, are you getting an email from Apple from your Hotmail account?

If not, are you checking the "Junk Mail" folder on hotmail?
Hotmail is notorious for sending things to Junk Mail.

Other than that, I have no idea.

No email from Apple, I've tried to resend the activation email so many times. I've checked the junk folder and nothing there.

It's really really frustrating. I wanted this all done for Xmas day, it works as I said above with another email I have, but I want my daughters email on it.

Do hotmail emails work via Apple ID with FaceTime?

I wonder if perhaps you need to have a paid Hotmail account. Why not just set up a Gmail account for her?

Surely dont need a paid Hotmail account, an email is an email isn't it?

Reason I want this email is that this is the email she's going to use all the time, I dot want to have another email when the Hotmail one is fine

I've never used the 90 day telephone support incident thing you get with a new Apple product, but wonder if I should with this, what do you think?
