Currently Being ModeratedDec 20, 2010 2:35 PM (in response to Texas_Man_Luvs_His_mac)oh my, I must have done something really bad. I checked the manually manage songs option thinking I could maybe get the songs to transfer to itunes manually. It didnt work. Not only that, it unchecked the sync music option.
If I try to turn on sync music, it wants to wipe the phone clean.
I'm really lost here. I feel I am backed into a corner and about to lose a lot of music I've paid for on my phone.
If I checked the manage music manually, where in the world do I get to manage it at? How is it managed if it won't let me check the sync music option without losing everything on my phone?PowerMac G5 2.0 dual, Mac OS X (10.5.4), 12 GB ram
Currently Being ModeratedDec 20, 2010 2:42 PM (in response to Texas_Man_Luvs_His_mac)You can either manually manage music or sync music. And yes, if you change that option, iTunes will first erase your phone of all music. Normally, this is not a problem as the music content should be in your iTunes library. I should add, there is no advantage to manually managing music with an iPhone as the iPhone does not support disk mode. Better to just create different playlists & sync those to your phone.
At this point you need to get the content off your phone & into your library. Use the File>Transfer Purchases command before you do anything else.MacBook Pro

I'm thinking there is a glitch somewhere as the file>transfer purchases didn't transfer anything. It blinked, showed something for a split second, then back to normal screen. I am going ahead with the update as I checked my main library and see all the purchased songs on there.PowerMac G5 2.0 dual, Mac OS X (10.5.4), 12 GB ram
