Playing Sibelius score in GB

Playing Sibelius score in GB

I created a score in Sibelius 5 and exported as a midi file. I successfully dropped it into GB and can playback using JamPack software instruments. Now I tried to be clever and loaded
Garritan Personal Orchestra instruments as software instruments. I selected the appropriate instruments. No playback! Any ideas?

Do the instruments play at all if you hit the notes on the screen keyboard?

Yes, I can play all the GPO using the screen keyboard and also with a MIDI keyboard. It is only when I attempt to playback the Sibelius score that I get nothing. It is like the score is not triggering the GPO instruments.

In the past I've had to 'relink' to my Logic Software Loop Library inside GB by dragging the folder onto an open GB project with the Loop Library open.

Perhaps some sort of similar linking needs to happen for GB to recognize the additional Garritan software samples.

It would be cool if that worked!

The only thing I can think of is that the Sibelius score uses a certain midi channel that the Garritan instruments don't respond to. (That happens with GB's organs, for example.) Can you set the midi channel in Sibelius? Channel 1 should be fine.

Thanks Christoph, your idea lead to my solution. I checked the midi channel used in each GPO software instrument and found it was set to channel 1. When I chose omni as the midi setting in each instrument they play!
