First, please make sure both sides have the latest version of Viber installed.
Now, please reboot your phone, and test Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks. Does the problem occur on all of them?
thanks for ur reply
i tried what u said but nothing changed.. the problem stay happening on other wifi.. even on 3G network
my roommate is using viber on the same WIFI and he doesn`t have this problem
it`s only on my phone.
Note: I have the last updated version of viber and other sides have it too.
This may be the source of the problem. We have received some reports from users in Saudi Arabia where we suspected that Viber might be blocked in some networks in the country. This may very well be the reason for the problem you're describing...
However, I invite you to contact our support team so they can further invesitgate this issue. Here it is: SMRT ticket
If anything changes (it works, or unfortunately you reach a conclusion that it is indeed blocked) - I would appreciate if you could message me back here
As far as we know, this is unfortunately true - Vodafone Hungary is blocking Viber on their 3G network (just like other Vodafone networks across Europe) - that is for subscribers who did not purchase a special VoIP plan.
To verify this information, may we ask you to contact Vodafone and confirm it with them? We should highly appreciate if you could report back to us what their response was.
I did it earlier...
They said: we don't know this problem, make sure your Viber settings...
I don't belive this information. I'm an IT and checked everything on iPhone and on viber i can. And as Viber working on wi-fi and the with the same setting on 3G not...i think the error is Vodafone. Unfortunately.
As we said, there is a known, widespread issue with Vodafone on 3G all across Europe - we wouldn't want to guarantee anything, of course, but we suspect that this is indeed a block in the 3G network.
Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help. You might want to try the following:
1. Try contacting them again, this time saying you knocouw there is a block, and ask which plan could solve this issue for you.
2. Ask around among friends in Hungary who have Viber and are connected to Vodafone. Do any of them manage to use Viber on 3G?
3. You might want to find other Hungarian Viber users who might be able to help you. A VPN, for example.
Hi @ANGALLIE -
It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber's traffic.
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connected to different a few WiFi networks. Does it work now?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, contact your router manufacturer)

thanks, hope to hear you soon..
Hi @jantwen -
First, please see our previous message, regarding the possibility that your network is blocking Viber's ports.
If that doesn't help, then the cause of this problem might be the fact that your iPhone is jailbroken/hacktivated, and that interferes with Push Notifications in your iPhone. Our support team might be able to assist you further with this issue - please read this page in our official Help Desk: http://bit.ly/uRG1Dw
Viber should work between any 2 Viber users, no matter where they are in the world.
Have you made sure that the American numbers are saved in their full international format? (i.e +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx)
Also, can you please specify which error exactly occurs when you try contacting your American contacts through Viber?
