Importing AAC files to iTunes?

Hi All, I have an AAC file (not on a CD) on my desktop which I wish to import to itunes 10.

Dragging and dropping doesn't work, neither does import to library.

What am I doing wrong?

Drag and drop should work fine, but it is not Import to Library that you should use it is Add to Library.
If neither of those work then it is likely that the file is not suitable for playback in iTunes.
Have you tried playing the file with Quicktime to see if it actually can be played?

Yeah the AAC file is fine. Since my last post I used a 3rd party piece of software to convert my file.

Its worked a treat!

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the Max tip - been all round the houses but now finally got my unimportable AACs into iTunes.
