download and install Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2 problem

Hi,

Prior to the installation and downloading, have you tried repair permission? In this case, I suggest you to repair permission as well as repair disk (boot from your installation disk A) before and after the installation and downloading.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to download the iOS update following Apple's instructions? See info here:

http://www.apple.com/ios/

I don't own an idevice, but it appears that you need to have it connected and then follow instructions in iTunes.

Edit: You'd also probably get more knowledgeable answers in an iPhone or ipad forum rather than the SL forum, which has nothing to do with the iOS since that is only compatible with the idevices.

I also have a problem with installation...

installation continues till 1 minute remaining then dies.

As an extra complication I have already deleted the previous version....

Did you figure this one out? I have a brand new Macbook Pro 17" with thunderbolt, and I have tried 10 times with Safari, always "Verification failed". Tried Firefox, skip verification, but received the error halfway through. Guess I can download it on my Windows PC and transfer it...
