Hi there,
I just bought a Mac mini with OS version: 10.6.5
I tried to download Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2 five times, everytime when
the download complete, it shows me the verification failed, then when I open the finder and click on
the file I just downloaded, it shows me the message like the download is not finished yet. but the download is definitely finished, then I click on this file again, it starts the verification process, but everytime the verification fails, then I try another way, instead of waiting for the verification complete, I click the skip button, then I can install the xcode, but the installation almost 50% to complete, it shows me the message "*installation failed contact software manufacture*".
I have tried using safari, firefox, and igetter to download this software with no luck.
appreciate for your help

    Hi,

Prior to the installation and downloading, have you tried repair permission? In this case, I suggest you to repair permission as well as repair disk (boot from your installation disk A) before and after the installation and downloading.

    Hope it helps.

Cheers and welcome to the discussions.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to download the iOS update following Apple's instructions? See info here:

    http://www.apple.com/ios/

I don't own an idevice, but it appears that you need to have it connected and then follow instructions in iTunes.

Edit: You'd also probably get more knowledgeable answers in an iPhone or ipad forum rather than the SL forum, which has nothing to do with the iOS since that is only compatible with the idevices.

Did you figure this one out? I have a brand new Macbook Pro 17" with thunderbolt, and I have tried 10 times with Safari, always "Verification failed". Tried Firefox, skip verification, but received the error halfway through. Guess I can download it on my Windows PC and transfer it...
