I have iLife 6 installed. I purchased iLife 11 and was wondering how do I install it. If I click install on the DVD, will it remove iLife 6 and install iLife 11 or will some of the iLife 6 files remain?

Also, I'm reading here that there are issues converting 09 files to 11. Mine are 06. Will I also have problems? Should I uninstall 06 (if so how?) and then install 11? I've also read that at least for iphoto, a new copy of the photo is actually saved by iphoto. I guess I need to preserve these so how would I do that? What about the other components of iLife?

Any other issues I need to be aware of?

Thanks

The install should remove all of the old files

That was true in iPhoto 6 also if you are using the default and highly recommended method of copying the photos to the i{Photo library

I guess I need to preserve these so how would I do that?

Not sure what this question is

What about the other components of iLife?

    Nor this one?

A couple of general points - as always be sure that you have a current backup - at all times and especially before any upgrade

After installing iLife '11 run software update before launching to get up to date (currently iPhoto 9.1.1 for iPhoto)

Be sure that your iPhoto 6 rolls are named before upgrading - unnamed rolls get converted strangely to '11
