ITunes scrolling problem - new drivers hasn't helped

Hi, I'm using a Dell laptop with Windows 7, 64 bit. The problem is when I am looking at my songs in ITunes. Using the up/down arrows or the scroll bar creates weird glitches on screen. The songs displayed just freezes with only a few at the top or bottom (depending which way I am going) actually scrolling. There is no refresh for the vast majority of the screen. If I click on a part of the screen that is frozen, the correct song for that spot will appear. If I then use the arrows to move up & down, I can manually get the screen to normal, but it is a pain. I first noticed this problem with iTunes 9 and thought iTunes 10.0 would solve it. No dice.
I have been finding similar threads and have tried everything that they mentioned with no results. Specifically, others have found issues with a multiscreen switch (not an issue here), with older BIOS (I just updated that), and with older drivers (I updated all the ones Dell told me to yesterday).
I have Windows Update on automatic, so all recommended and important updates are happening.

Having the same problem. I used iTunes 10 normally on Vista x86 when suddenly this glitch start to appear. Than I installed Win7 x64 with newest version of iTunes — same problem.
Also I found out that along with this iTunes' fault QuickTime can't play QTVR panoramas while normal movies goes ok.
Do you experience that with QT?

The problem is itunes isnt compatible with the new windows "Aero" themes. Here's how you fix that, right click on the itunes icon on your desktop, select "troubleshoot compatibility", the select "try recommended settings". When itunes opens, your pc will switch to a windows "basic" theme. Your pc will go back to your original theme when you close itunes. I hope this helps.

I did as you suggested, and the iTunes does, indeed, work fine. I'm just wondering what it will do the next time I open iTunes. That is, do I have to go through the "troubleshoot compatibility" every time? ...

I guess I answered my own question by shutting it down and starting up again. It did start up with Windows Basic theme coming on. So, that solves the problem. I wish iTunes could just have figured the compatibility thing out, already!

T.Tran, thanks very much for your info. This was a very frustrating issue!

As I investigated, the problem not in "Aero" theme itself, because when I turn Windows Basic theme and launch iTunes in normal mode it still have this scroll lag. So when you set compatibility to XP, that means it does something more than just disabling Windows' glass and transparency. The question is: whan exactly it does?

Hi, I am having similar problems with an HP G-62.
All drivers are up to date, the compatability thing did not work, it only said that iTunes wasn't compatible which I don't understand as I am using the 64bit version.
It is not a display issue for me.

I only experience the scrolling lag when I actually click the arrows at either end of the scroller, when clicking inside the bar, it scrolls fine but very quickly...

any ideas anyone?

Thanks T.Tran, the windows compatibility mode fixed the scrolling problem.
But now iTunes will not allow my computer to be authorized on my apple account. and so now I have problems with syncing my iPod because the apps are not recognized by apple store as legally purchased by my account(even the free ones)...
How can I enjoy both world? scrolling and syncing?
Thanks!
