iPhoto is eating my photos!!!!

Something is going on. I was about to cry but luckily I was able to restore my Disney photos from Time Machine.

Still, I was getting ready to create a slideshow when I went into my Disney event and saw several photos of the 1200 I have in there were just gray dotted type boxes where the photo should be! There was no rhyme or reason to which photos had a placeholder but no actual photo anymore. I'm so afraid something is going to destroy my whole library. In five years of using iPhoto I've never had this happen.

Anyone else or anyone have a clue what might be going on?

I've seen this sort of thing happen once before. In that case, it wasn't good news. My sister's hard drive was failing and corrupted photos was one of the first indicators.

"If a photo file is corrupted or missing, you will see the missing photo indicator instead—a gray box with a dashed outline."

(maybe there is a more current version)
