I got divorced...imagine how frustrating that I kept getting my ex husband's Id after I spent forver switching everything to my new information. While this makes sense...it is not user friendly. I ahve 3 kids...I have a million apps on my devices. Needing to delete and then re-purchase??? Not acceptable!

Apr 2, 2012 4:51 PM in response to SweetPoison54by Karenhope,I had this problem also and after much searching and trying many options I finally got it fixed. I was trying to update my apps and my iPad to kept displaying my old id. I finally deleted all my apps and installed them again and that fixed the problem for me.

Apr 9, 2012 9:06 AM in response to APFA1by Cbaker96,APFA1 message seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle! Basically it is a 2 part process of signing out in the app store and deleting the account in Icloud and signing in with the new id. Thanks for the info because the Icloud part was frusterating me!

Why would you need to do this?
"Why is anyone okay with this??? "
I don't see anyone is okay with this. I would't be.
"Im in need of a WAY better solution then throw my money away to re-buy the same ****..."
Why would you throw your money away buying **** the first time let alone doing it again?
just redownload what you want on the same account it was purchased with.

Apr 22, 2012 9:46 AM in response to Chris CAby _Jula_,Because Christopher, what you're Not understanding Sir is that using old account information is NOT an option for some people. People like me, if I would have known that I'd have to use my old information to update all of my existing apps, I would have kept the account Exclusively for my Apple devices. BUT because I didn't know that changing accounts would be such a hassle, here's where I'm stuck at; I created a new AppleID with my New email address(with ALL New information), because I got rid of my old email(the same email I created my old AppleID with) AND along with that came a new cc#, because not only did I get a new email address, but I switched banks as well. So you see Sweetie using any old information is NOT an option, because nothing that was liked to my old AppleID is active, not a password, credit card, nor the email address... So that's why I said, "why is anyone okay with this?" & "I'm in need of a way better solution than to throw my$ away to re-buy the same ****" because that's the only other option I'm seeing after keeping up with this entire convo that started between you and the first man that asked. I have a build up of 37 updates that I've been trying to attend to that I can't update because I purchased them under the old AppleID. So unless you have the better solution to that issue, I'm just stuck with my updates building because I don't want to just delete them. You see what I'm sayin Chris? Thank you though for letting me know how to change my ID's so that I can use my new one, but it does nothing for the updates needed for apps that we're purchased with my old AppleID.

Who's Christopher?

So? Why not simply update the AppleID with your new info?
nothing that was liked to my old AppleID is active, not a password, credit card, nor the email address..
I still don't see what the issue is.
You can easily recover your account and set a new password and email address.
Go here -> https://iforgot.apple.com/
You see what I'm sayin Chris?
No.
"I'm in need of a way better solution than to throw my$ away to re-buy the same ****"
Simply continue to use the old account adn quit using the new account.
Go here -> https://iforgot.apple.com/
If you do not remember the AppleID, select Forgot your AppleID?
Make sure you select Answer security questions instead of Email authentication (since you cannot access the old email).
Reset the password, login and update the AppleiD and email address.
Then remove info for the new AppleID you created and just use the old, updated AppleID.
Simple.
Okay Sweetie?

Hey Guys ~
I have posted this question every where and no one seems to know how to help me. I changed my email address at iTunes. Which is my ID, obviously. But it is all set up at itunes, and on my iPad too, via settings.
But ~
When I go to update my 11 updates, it pops up with my old ID/email, which no longer is operating.
So I can't update my apps or purchase from itunes through my iPad. Yes, I have gone to Settings, and signed out, signed back in, with NEW ID/email, and that is all good...
But updating my apps ~ still has my old email.
Help? Please?https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3575951?start=0&tstart=0

May 3, 2012 11:26 AM in response to William Rivasby Prolude,Seems i am not the only one, my partner used my ipad i got her a new one but her games were on my id, she does not want it on my id as its associated with my work email address could get complicated at times. One game can be easily moved as its got save/load feature in game, though problem with purchases within the game, the other game does not that feature can only be backed up and restored. I allowed her to change my apple id to one she wanted to use on her new ipad, which she did by going on apple id managing accounts, she changed password, card details etc. Then backed up my ipad connected new one and restored it all on it. Everything transfered only problem is she cant buy anything within those 2 games. she can download new apps no problem access the store, itunes but just that issue. I actually recreated my old id i dont know if that is what is causing the problem but i have changed it again just incase will try it again and see if that works. If not anyone got anyideas unless option is to change her id back to my original id.

May 14, 2012 2:46 PM in response to Proludeby kbrooks,Unfortunately, Apple's idea of a better Operating System and better apps blew apart long before the first Mac battery did. Was there anyway to make a more confusing app than iTunes? No. I also noticed that the I'm a PC, I'm a Mac commercials came to a sudden stop. Lawsuits? Or did Microsoft just do a better Operating System? Apples "Lockem Down Tight - It's Alright!" dosn't really fly with the real computing crowd that knows better. Forcing users to buy only Apple Certified products is like Ford making you use their over priced oil! They don't do that anymore, why does Apple.
We can only hope that one day Microsoft and Apple will merge and put an even better System on the desktop. I am sure when that day comes, iTunes (and probably QuickTime) will not be a part of it!
