An unknown error (-15006) occurred while connecting...

Since today I am receiving an error message "An unknown error (-15006) occurred while connecting to the remote speaker APPLE TV"

I am not sure if this is caused by iTunes or Apple TV, but I can't even connect to iTunes from my iPhone 4 using Home Sharing.

Here is what I have tried so far, all without success:

-turn off firewall
-reset Apple TV
-turned Home Sharing off and turned back on
-reset the router (Cisco E 3000)
-tried connecting using the Remote app

I have seen some older posts about the same error message when using Arport Express, I do not use this device.

I am at a loss. What am I missing? How could this start literally overnight?

Any help is appreciated.

Hey Steffanu,

I found this thread ( http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2580951) and turned off and then on my Airport as recommended. It worked! I hope this solution works for you, too.

I received this error this AM after having great success with 3 AE devices in the past. Here's what worked for me. I first turned off my WiFi connection (the fan) then, went to System Preferences, Network, and removed all previous remembered networks. Close. Turned on my WiFi (the fan) and my home network was immediately found and connected. Tried Airtunes, and it worked fine. Not sure why. Hope this helps

That seems to have solved my problem... been streaming for almost an hour without any problem.

Thank you very much. I was desperate to find a way to fix this... LOL.
