Can't connect Lexicon Alpha audio interface to logic!

Question

Can't connect Lexicon Alpha audio interface to logic!

I've just got this audio interface and I plugged it into my laptop using the USB port. Logic recognises it and I've selected the interface as the input. However when I create a new audio track and plug my electric guitar in, logic doesn't pick up any sound at all! I'm sure I'm doing something wrong so some help would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Did you select the correct input?
Has your guitar an output signal or did you forget to turn up your pickups?
Did you select the Interface *inside Logic's preferences* as input or just in the OS X preferences. That's something different.

Hmm. I just got it too and have hooked it up. I set up the audio correctly in the audio section, however, when I get audio, I get incredible stuttering. Has this happened to you ?
