Apple application support version 1.4.1 is installed error

I keep getting this error when I attempt to open itunes after upgrading to the latest version. 10.1.1

Apple application support version 1.4.1 is installed, itunes requires apple application support version 1.3.2 or later

Does anyone know what to do about it?

I have already uninstall the entire program and all its components 3 times. Still, same error after re-installing.

Bang goes another theory. Okay, let's try putting your AAS 1.4.1 back. (Fingers crossed, iTunes will notice it properly this time.)

Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

http://www.rarlab.com/

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?

If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

No. That's what's so strange. It's telling me I have version 1.4.1 installed (which after checking it out, I do) but it tells me I need version 1.3.2 or higher which makes no sense what so ever since I do have 1.4.1 installed and it tells me I do have 1.4.1 installed!

FYI-Quick time opens with no problem.

Hmmmmm ... I wonder if this is an odd variation of an "a newer version if X is installed" installation error message?

Checking on that possibility now ... are you currently able to uninstall your Apple Application Support from your Add or Remove programs control panel? Or do you get an error message? If you get an error message, what does that one say?
