iTunes unexpectedly Quit - Sonix SN9C201 WebCam Plug in

I'm using my macpro through a network using ARD 3.3 and now and again iTunes crashes with -- iTunes unexpectedly Quit using the Sonix SN9C201 WebCam Plug in.

I have no webcams plugged in, has anyone come across this crash before?

I have encountered this problem recently, not only causing iTunes crashes but also causing crashes of Fotomagico, a slideshow programme. It is interesting that both applications use Quicktime.

I resolved the problem by going to the top level Library/Quicktime folder and removing the file Sonix SN9C201 WebCam.component. Nobody seems to know for sure where this file came from, but I have seen some comment that Skype placed it there. Hope this solves your problem.

Hi,

Thanks for that, i managed to trace that component after i posted my query, hopefully this will solve my issue. Interesting, as i do use skype so maybe it has put it there.
