today just now the app store is crashing every time I load another page for the free apps but I doesn't crash when I load the second page for the paid apps and I even tried rebooting it and it's still crashing can someone help me out and my iPod isn't jail broken if that's part of the problem

Try this go into the app hold down the power button when the power off slider appears hold the home button until you are returned to the home page.

I have the same problem too. I just got a new ipod.for christmas. Ill probably juat exchane it but thats just weird. Cuz i have a friend with iOS 4.1 iPod touch 4g and his works perfectly
Yea dude same here I think there's a bug or something.
It's really annoying but I know it has nothing to do with the
iPod/iPhone 4(both). Just wait it out and see if they patch the bug.

yeah me too - the screen turns gray, almost like its fading out, then crashes

If rebooting doesn't seem to be working, then it must be software related.
Make a backup of your current iPod Touch and then restore your iPod Touch to factory settings. Before restoring your backup to your iPod Touch, try to see if the App Store will load and work. If it does, then your settings before were causing your iPod Touch to crash. If not, then you may want to go and restore your backup, then just buy apps from your computer, assuming you have one.
Please remember my post is a suggestion. It will not be my fault if your backup does not get applied correctly or if restoring messes up your iPod Touch. Your decision is yours, not mine.
