FaceTime Error: “FaceTime Failed – XXX is not available for FaceTime“

Hello. I just setup my Ipod touch 4th generation with Facetime, and its not working properly. Whenever I try to Facetime my friend, it gives the following error: “FaceTime Failed – XXX is not available for FaceTime“
-XXX is the name of the person I am trying to call.-

I really want to test out Facetime and all the features that it has to offer.

Thanks in Advance!

iPod Touch 4th Generation 8GB, iOS 4, Running iOS 4.2.1 Build (8C148)

You should test with more than one person to be sure that the problem is not at your friend's end.

You can test with me if you do not have other FaceTime contacts. Click my name at left to find my FaceTime contact info. I only use the email address there for FaceTime, so there is no need to send email. Simply get my FaceTime contact info and call when you want to test FaceTime. Best time to test with me is 14:00 GMT - 03:00 GMT. I answer test calls whenever I am available, so try later if I miss you.

You can also try calling from a FaceTime-friendly wi-fi location like Apple retailers or internet cafes to see if perhaps your wi-fi network may need troubleshooting:

Bill ,

got the same problem ... look everywhere in discussion ..

I now have my Face Time up and running on my Ipad2 .

From the Preference , I turned Face time Off .. Then I turned it back on still in the Preference .. et voila , I was connecting .

I was able to get Face time on my Iphone 4 in my home wifi , but not on my Ipad2 ..

Did you try this ?

Marcel
