Apple Cinema display

Hi All,

Loads of topics on here already about the cinema display - whether to/not to buy etc. I'm considering, but wanted to clear a few confusions up before going any further:

The previous model (in 30") was called a HD monitor. Firstly, are these new monitors (27", for example), not HD/lower res? Or is it just that all the new monitors are HD as standard, so there is no need for HD in the name?

Secondly (kind of related to previous point), is that there only seems to be a 27" model available on the online store. Are there no other sizes (smaller. preferably)?

If anyone has any recommended alternatives, feel free to chime in!

Thanks

Great, thanks for clarifying the HD query!

I'm aware, in fact all too aware(!) that they are great displays. My current problem is the fact I can get a Samsung 23" LCD type thing for around £150, rather than £899. I have the money, so that's no issue, but I don't want to waste money on something that I don't see a worthy markup on (despite how good it is).

Anyone got any advice? Suggestions of similar models?

I won't be using it for graphically-orientated work (music-orientated, really), so super high quality isn't a must in this sense. However, I work from home at my computer everyday, so I still want something of really good quality, long-lasting, and suitable for extended hours of use on!

Thanks
