Ipod nano 6th gen. "connected eject before disconnecting" plugged into comp

my ipod nano, which i got yesterday, says its connected to the computer and not to remove it or whatever and i tried restarting it several times by pressing the sleep button and the volume down button at the same time and holding them, but tha didnt help. and i downloaded my music onto the ipod but when i open it into my computer, it says the music is on there so i unplug the ipod and it has no music at all or anything else... i dont know what to do... BTW its not the cmputer thought because it wont work on any of my 3 computers of the family
