Likely my fault, I'm actually on 10.5.8 at the moment but remembered wrong that 10.4 was the same.

From my readings that error seems tied to Java & Safari, some cures were resetting or reinstalling Java, Reset in Safari's menu, reapplying the big Combo update...

Repair Permissions afterwords, reboot.
