I tried holding the home and the side buttons but I keep getting the same thing. Logo only. This happened after I did reset all for factory default. The IPAD does not appear in the ITUNES either. Pls help. Thank you.

    Hi and welcome...

The side buttons are for the volume and screen rotation lock. In order to startup your iPad, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears. (The Sleep/Wake button is on the right side of your iPad toward the top)

The IPAD does not appear in the ITUNES either.

    Follow the instructions here.

Thanks for your response. I did exactly what you described with no result. I keep getting the logo back with no boot.

You are releasing the buttons after the white apple appears, right?

Fixed it. For some reason, Itunes on my laptop was not picking up the IPAD. I switched to my wife's laptop and voila. Itunes detected the IPAD in restore mode, but I had an error due to Itunes outdated version, I had to upgrade Itunes to the latest version. Tried again, detected the IPAD and restored it to Factory default.
Lesson learned: To restore IPAD to Factory default, make sure ITUNES is on the latest version, if it cannot detect the IPAD, check the cable, reboot, if all fails reinstall ITUNES. Once detected, if restore fails, read the log, it should tell you the reason. Usually ITUNES is outdated like in my scenario.
Also, make sure you backup your IPAD regularly using ITUNES.

Thank you all for your help.
