Airport password not working

I have an airport extreme and a macbook pro 13" running snow leopard. I love airport more than any other router, but airport has been acting strange lately. Latest incident: Airport disconnected from my macbook pro, and now when I go to sign in to the wifi network it says 'invalid password', even though I know it's the right one. I edited the password on airport utility (on my desktop pc, as airport utility on my macbook couldn't find the router) and switched the password, then tried signing into that. I updated airport, made a whole new network, restarted my macbook... nothing I've tried works. Solutions? I have college apps to fill out, so a speedy solution would be very much appreciated.

The same thing happened here. I even looked up my password in the Keychain app to make sure I've got the right one, still didn't work. The Airport Utility wants me to update my firmware from 7.4.2 to 7.5.2 but I can't do that without the password.

I'm already not wanting to do this because it'll mean updating all the iphones and computers that use the wireless network. for some reason the current password is fine, it just doesn't work in the AirPort Utility

AirPort Utility is probably asking for your Base Station (device) password, not your wireless network password.

You established a Base Station password when you first configured the AirPort Exptreme.

🙂 Bob! I realized that right after I did the soft reset! What a goof!

In the Airport Admin Utility there is a handy drop down menu for choosing a setting that was called something like "Recovered Setting", I think that remembers the last setting maybe? This time I remembered to save my Airport Base Station pwd in the Keychain.
