Airplay not working on iphone 4 or ipad

I just got an apple tv and i am trying to use the airplay to listen to audio over my speakers. It works playing from my computer to my apple tv and it also works playing from my old iphone 3Gs. It does not work when trying to airplay audio from my iphone 4 or ipad. I have tried calling apple support and dealing with them for a few hours and they could not tell me what the problem was. Is there a setting or something that i need to change to make the airplay work? And why would it work on the older phone and not the new one???

I do have the same problem. I have a PC (Windows XP), Airplay and Ipad. All updates are made. I even restored&reboot my Ipad.
My PC can see the Apple TV but Ipad can't. I can even control itunes on my PC via Remote app. in my ipad to play on the Apple TV.
So my pc sees apple tv, my ipad sees my pc but I can't find the airplay icon in anywhere in my ipad (youtube, ipod nor photos).
Is there anything I can do?

After trying everything I finally solved the issue. You should disable "User Isolation" in your modem settings under Wireless. When enabled, your modem does not allow you wireless devices to communicate with each other thus your ipad can't see your apple tv.
When this is enabled but your apple tv is connected to an ethernet cable you can still use the airplay.
