27" Intel iMac with a DVD drive slot AND a a SD card slot on the right

I put my SD card in the DVD SLot and of course it went in and disappeared - any suggestions on how to get it back - hopefully short of spending a fortune for an Apple repair tech to open the case?

And taking Non-Klutz lessons 😟

Unfortunately, if I remember correctly, the other posts regarding this mishap (yes, there are others, so you don't have to feel as though you're the only one 🙂 ) seemed to lead to: shut down Mac, turn on its' side with slots facing down and gently shake a little or taking it to an AASP or Apple Store.

The two are too close together (my opinion) - I've decided to avoid a possible problem by using a USB card reader.

My almost foolproof method: a folded, shortened post it note covering the lower third of the optical drive slot. Acts as a "not here" sign with the non-permanent adhesive section attached to the back. Almost foolproof since I suppose one if really obstinate could drop the card in over the top of the note. The post it note is easily removed when access to the drive slot is required. Could cover up the drive slot completely, but not good since I think the drive fan exhausts from there. Works in my situation, since the card reader is much more frequently used.
