Logic wish list for next release

Cosmetics may not be important for some but for the rest of us it is.
When I work with PT9 or DP7 I am amazed how beautiful they look. It makes it so easy and pleasing to work with them. BUT I like Logic Pro better for everything else so APPLE if you read this MAKE LOGIC PRO WITH THEMES (COLORS CHOICES) OR SPECTRUM CHOICES AS IN PT9 and DP7 . IT MAKE LIFE BETTER WHEN YOU WORK 10 -12 HOURS A DAY ON PROJECT.
The Dark gray color In Logic is nice but boring. Other competitor are cathing with a pleasing environment.
DP7 is a wonder and EM choices of DAW for 2010 Cosmetics are important to.
Thanks:-)

Christian,
I also hate bugs in Logic Pro it seams to crash more often than PT and DP. It is a little of a contradiction because I have the tendency to be more of a soul person my hair can testify of this. But working 10-12 hours (Which is what I am trying to avoid) I would rather spend it working with PD or PT but I love the ease of use of Logic and the Midi. So why not ask (I did) Apple to color Logic and make it beautiful instead of flat. IMHO. I totally agree that Bugs are first but Apple has the capacity to address both.
I think AVID is having delusion about their place in the market in the future Apple and Logic is a more solid ground IMO.

Be well and at peace.

christian,

thankz for posting this link, i went ahead with the customization and all seems fine except for one thing. the colours on my level-meters have not changed to the vivid green/red scheme shown in the screenshot. (everything else looks identical, which is good, it's a kool skin, but i'd love to have those green/red meters)

have you had this experience with level-meter colours?

Fix the biggest bug of all (random pause/hesitation on playback) This bug has been
lurking around since the first version of 9.

Single click (as opposed to having to double click) any instantiated plug in the channel strip,
to open it. PT has had this feature for as long as I can remember. I use key command "V",
but would rather have single click.

"Wait for note" on record!! PT has also had this feature for quite a while.

meh ... color themes I can live without.

here's something I've been wishing more and more for though:

* bounce by markers

Say you've got a whole show tracked. You run through and you set markers on each of the songs. Maybe you run through again and set some automation while you're mixing etc.

Now you just need to bounce each song out and set the ID3 tags etc.
What'd be super nice would be a bounce by markers button that just starts at the beginning of the project and bounces each marked section and labels it with a track number and the title of the marker.

I also vote for "flex pitch" ... that's highly marketable and good to have.

And also Mainstage as a software intstument in logic would be AWESOME.

Maybe you could elaborate on what this means a little bit?

Sure. I've asked for this before on the forum (and also filled out a feature request) ... what I'd like to see is the ability to instantiate a MainStage concert from within logic as a +software instrument track+.

This would allow you to, for instance ... play all your complex keyboard patches and looping stuffs in MainStage, while simultaneously tracking your band. And even better ... one could conceivably go back and edit one's performance via the midi track as one would with any other software instrument.

It is actually possible to do this today, using soundflower & IAC, by running Logic and MainStage simultaneously ... in fact this IS how I track my band (as I'm the keyboard player). But doing it that way uses a lot of CPU (unnecessarily, I think because of the complex audio routing hack).

Sure would be a lot cleaner as a software instrument, and open up a whole lot of possibilities.

Seems like Apple could sell the heck out of it ... wish they'd actually do it.
Best I can do is keep asking 🙂
