Remote DeskTop Connection on iMac OS X (10.6.5)

I am using RDC into work. I also have a need to use my system as do others in my home. We have 3 user accounts on the iMac and when I walk away I would like to log out of my account so others can use the system. Is there a way to do this keeping the RDC connected in the background?
