I recently purchased a docking station (Henge-Dock) and I want to doc my Macbook Pro. I get it all set up, but when put it in the docking station, I have to have the lid closed and it goes to sleep.

any suggestions or tips on how I can keep it awake??

Thanks -

The other requirement, in addition to those already mentioned, for display-closed operation is that AC power must be connected to the computer. If it isn't, the computer won't wake up and run with its display closed.

Nothing will prevent it from sleeping when you first close the display, but if AC power is provided, it will wake up with any keystroke on the external keyboard.

Pretty much restating what the previous comments said; make sure you have an external monitor plugged in (obvious) and a keyboard and a mouse, both turned off or on, it doesn't matter. Then close the lid on your laptop and put it in the docking station. To wake the computer up, turn the keyboard and mouse on if they were off, or press a few keys on the keyboard (yay for button mashing) or click a few times with the mouse.

This is actually annoying to me, because I have a Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX, which has a switch on the bottom to turn off. Normally I just let my computer go into sleep mode, so I close the lid and then turn the mouse off. But when a turn the mouse off, the computer wakes up, even though the lid is closed. So I have to turn the mouse off before I close the lid. Anyway, hope the former paragraph helped.
