Unlocked iPhone bought in US useless in Mexico

Last week i bought 3 unlocked iPhone´s4 in Miami, said to that i´ll be able to connect them to any company, reason why they were $700, not the $300 at&t line. When I went to my mobile company (iusacell in mexico city) they told me that they weren´t able to cennect them to their system, that the iphone4 wasn´t able to read their SIM card.

Why if my iphone is supposedly "unlocked" why can´t i connect it to my mobile Mexican company (Iusacell), if anyway they also have the iphone4 on stores? Why is this incompatibility happening and what can i do to solve this problem?

Hoping you give me a soon answer, and possible solution.
Thank you for your support.

ALL iPhones sold in the USA are locked to AT&T and neither AT&T nor Apple will unlock them, therefore, I suspect your iPhones were hacked to unlock them. Of course, this is not an 'official unlock' so if you Restore or upgrade the phone, it will relock to AT&T.

Bottom line... you were conned. You should try to sell the phones back here in the USA and purchase ones for use with your carrier.
