Aug 21, 2011 9:49 PM in response to Jayykayyby eriksr,Also joining this thread. My ATV 2 started doing this about two weeks ago. Random reboots. This only started after I installed Lion. I updated the ATV 2 to the latest update today (was delaying it to see if there were any problems...) and the problem persists.
This only happens when I am streaming movies or music via Airplay. Then again, I don't use it for anything else.

Aug 26, 2011 11:02 PM in response to Jayykayyby christianfromvic la gardiole,Same here in France: Running latest Imac 27 with Lion + Apple TV2 V 4.3(2557). Keeps crashing and the only thing I can see on my TV is the famous spinning wheel. Besides complaining, I have checked the web and a lot more Apple TV customers complain about this phenomenom and it does not look that Apple wants to do anything about it: no communication, no update planned, nothing! If THEY don't want to do anthing what can WE do to make them help us?

Aug 27, 2011 10:53 AM in response to Jayykayyby Insulin_Junkie,I'm having a similar problem.
Since the update, ATV2 drops when streaming on netflix randomly, when it goes back to the menu, the apple store, and netflix are not an option in the list unless I unplug and plug back in the ATV2.....stupid update!

Aug 28, 2011 1:58 AM in response to Daniel Soderstromby Daniel Soderstrom,Ive worked it out, it is a replicatable bug. 1 week ago I changed the screensaver settings from the animals built in photos to my library. You can temporarily fix the crashes by disabling your photos and returning to the inbuilt in ones or. Alternatively you can change the settings to not display the screen saver during music.
Hopefully apple fix this, I have no idea how to notify them.
Daniel.

Aug 28, 2011 9:43 AM in response to luvinstuctyby dynamos,I have been having a similar problem with Apple tv2. I will go to use it, and the unit has forgotten the wifi network. I must select the network again and enter the WEP password. I also have Lion installed. Any ideas?

Sep 1, 2011 9:24 PM in response to Daniel Soderstromby rowans,I have the same issue and it is when the screensaver showing photos shared from iTunes starts. If you make your iPhoto library that you are sharing smaller it can alleviate the issue, but I haven't found the threshold number of photos. Also having it on wired/wireless doesn't solve the issue.
If you disable the screensaver it solves the problem. Hopefully we get a fix soon...

Sep 2, 2011 9:49 AM in response to Jayykayyby LandRoverNC,After I changed my Screen saver to the default Apple TV screen saver, my Apple TV (2nd gen) stopped resetting. I was using a picture folder residing on my MacBook Pro as the screen saver, but each time Apple TV went into screen saver mode, it would reset.
Hope this helps some people.
Billy
