Copy and paste Values from Numbers to Pages

When I do simple copy and paste content from Numbers to Pages, I get a formula error message. All I want to copy and paste the values only, not the formulas, but on pages I cannot find a way to paste values only. When it tries to paste formula, it errors because some of the formulas references to other sheets on Numbers. What is the easy way to get values from Numbers tables to pages without passing formulas.

Or better yet! Is there a way to link tables to pages like charts with refresh capabilities so I don't have to copy and paste values to pages document every time Numbers table values changes?

Command+Shift+V

will paste just the values

Consider the context.

If your cursor is flashing in a text box or on the main text layer when you Paste and Match Style, you will get text. If you take the focus off the text field you will get a table.

To remove the focus from the text, Command-Click in the Margin.

There is no Paste Special in OSX, anywhere. You can Paste Values from the Edit menu in Numbers when that would be necessary.

In such cases where you would use Paste Values in Numbers, you can use Paste and Match Style in Pages for the same result.

Sometimes it's so obvious to Pages what should be done that it will give you what you need automatically, but sometimes you need to use Paste and Match Style to get the values rather than an error triangle.

Jerry,
When I do "paste and match style" I just get the values but they are not in the spreadsheet format...it turns out to be a list with everything listed under one column.

I find the same problem as cikliz when I copy just part of a spreadsheet and paste to Pages, in which it references cells that are not part of that which I have copied. It is almost as if I need a "paste special" feature in Pages that will allow me to print the values and ignore the formulas.

For me, at least, copying a table from Numbers using Copy and Paste works just fine, and just as you would want it to, I think. I can't tell from the amount of explanation you have given what might be causing your problem.

The answer to part two of your post is "no". We can link Charts, but not Tables.
