MS Office 2011 for Mac and Exchange 2003

I have a user in my company that just purchased a Macbook Air with Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac. Our organization has an Exchange 2003 server. According to Apple's Help on the Mac, Office 2011 only interfaces with Exchange 2007.

Can anybody please tell me if a workaround exists to make what we have work? I want the user to be able to use Outlook 2011 for Mac with our Exchange 2003 server. Can I make it work somehow going through OWA? I have read that using Apple Mail somewhat works, but I want to be able to use Outlook instead. Thanks

I was in the same boat. I read a post on another message board that said DavMail works. I downloaded and installed with a few configuration settings, wa..laa...it worked. took about 5 minutes...DavMail is shareware available on sourceforge.

Yes, but DavMail will not get Contacts and Calendar in sync, will it? I bought Ms Office for Mac 2011, business, and now I feel cheated! 🙂

Why would you feel cheated? If you would have done some product research on Office 2011 you would have found out it doesn't work with 2003. You got cheated only by yourself.

Exchange (if you can) your Office 2011 for 2008, which is compatible with Exchange 2003

I tried to use DavMail to access exchange 2003 as a work around. After several reboots my MacBook Pro now only boots to the apple and spinning wheel. Safe mode works ok. I moved both DavMail and Office 2011 to the trash can and still dosn't work. Not Happy
