My iPod Touch volume buttons don't work

Two weeks, after I got an iPod Touch, my volume buttons and my off-button don't work anymore. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem

Ipod touch4, iOS 4

Try restoring your device (Hold down the top button and the front button for about 10 seconds or so until you see the white Apple logo.).

Have you tried resetting your iPod?

Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

That doesn't work, because the off-Button doesn't work either.

Mine is doing the same thing. I just restored and it didn't help.

Same problem here. Restoring the ipod didn't help. It might have something to do with temperature?
Sometimes the buttons do work, mostly when the ipod cooled down when used outside.
After running a game like BIA2 it heatens up and they don't work anymore. At least this is what I noticed several times, might be coincidence.

I have the same problem. my off button and volume conrols don't work, so I can not restore the ipod. I've just bought it 2 days ago!

what should I do?

I got an iPod Touch 3G and the volume buttons on the side have never worked! Only just realised that they should after using a friend's - doh!!!! Anyone know how to fix it and how much it will cost?
