Could someone please point out to me how I could install fonts for different languages from the Mac OS X installation disks?

I have been looking for ways to type in different languages on my new Mac, and recently stumbled upon this page from the documentation: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8424.html. After reading that, it was easy to set up input source for Devanagari. However, when I tried setting up input source for Tamil and Bengali, it appeared that my system did not have fonts for those two scripts.

The above documentation page advises that "Some languages may not appear unless you install additional fonts for that language. Check your Mac OS X installation discs for additional fonts that you may want to install." But I cannot seem to figure out how to do that. Could someone please help? Thanks!
