Iphone 4 and I can't delete photos, please help.

OK, i copied/synced some photos off of my cpu desktop and it automatically created an album called Photo Library. Well i have Camera Roll and Photo Library as albums. I can go into Camera Roll and delete anything just fine since it gives me the option in the lower right hand corner. When i go into the Photo Library album, that it created on its on when i copied the pictures from my cpu to my iphone, it DOES NOT give me the option to delete them in the bottom right corner. I've gone to itunes and windows explorer and it doesnt even show the pictures as even on my phone so i can delete them that way either. It only shows the camera roll album and thats it. Does anyone know how i can get the pictures off my phone?
Thanks

The same way they got there, through the iTunes sync process. Connect your phone, iTunes running, under the photos tab, remove the checks in the boxes for the photos/albums/folders you do not want on your phone & hit the apply/sync button, they will then be removed from your phone.

I'm having the exact same problem.

At one time, i created an album in iPhoto, "upload to iphone", and synced that album to my iPhone.

Additionally, there is the "Camera Roll" album containing 900+ photos i had taken with my iPhone. (I generally don't check the option in iPhoto to remove photos from the iPhone after importing ... just in case.)

I wanted to remove all photos from my iPhone (for the first time since i got it!), and i was quite surprised to learn that it is a major operation.

First, although not specifically asked about in this post, some of you may find this helpful:

To clear the contents of the iPhone's "Camera Roll", open Image Capture and select your iPhone. Then, select all the photos on the list (or the multiple photos you want) and click the "Delete" icon at the bottom of the screen.

Next, i wanted to remove my "upload to iphone" album, but when i go to the Photos tab in iTunes during the Sync process, no albums are checked; in fact, the "Sync Photos from..." line isn't checked at all.

I have tried checking the box, checking the "upload to iphone" album, emptying the contents of that album in iPhoto, and syncing the empty album to the iPhone ... but the photos remain. And, for some reason, i cannot even delete them individually on the iPhone directly because there is not a Trash icon in the bottom right of each photo as there should be!

Please help...

I've been struggling with this for ages, but this morning I did it. I deleted 400 odd photos !!

  1. In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
  2. Choose "Sync photos from."
    • On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
    • On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
  3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
  4. Click Apply.

I use windows...chose sync from photoshop....and everything deleted!!!! Finally, I can use my phone camera again ! Hope this helps you
