Moving ITUNES library to flashdrive

I am not looking to backup my library....I am wondering if I can MOVE my ITUNES library off my hard drive and onto a flash drive....and how would I use it after that (I assume if I put my IPOD in, the flash drive would have to be put in first). Any help would be appreciated.

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Niel, I did what you said. I have a sandisk cruzer and it seemed to copy the file and then when I went to look for it, it was not there. I pulled up the info on the flash drive and it says it is formatted to msdos fat 32. Do I have to do something to this flash drive to make it work proper with a mac? This is my first flash drive (I do not have a pc)

Let me know if this is correct, I opened ITUNES with the option button down, selected my flash drive, opened the music folder, selected ITUNES as the new redirect for the library. Then I went into my home, found the Music folder, found the ITUNES folder, deleted it. Seems to work ok....I haven't emptied my trash though....let me know
