I am not looking to backup my library....I am wondering if I can MOVE my ITUNES library off my hard drive and onto a flash drive....and how would I use it after that (I assume if I put my IPOD in, the flash drive would have to be put in first). Any help would be appreciated.
Will this completely remove my library from my hard drive, or will it only copy it?
I am looking to just take it off the hard drive and put it onto the flash drive to free up space.
there isn't a folder to move since I cant login to my itunes account? I have my email address's that i would have used but its been a long time since I opened my account...
Niel, I did what you said. I have a sandisk cruzer and it seemed to copy the file and then when I went to look for it, it was not there. I pulled up the info on the flash drive and it says it is formatted to msdos fat 32. Do I have to do something to this flash drive to make it work proper with a mac? This is my first flash drive (I do not have a pc)
Niel, sorry about that last post, it is all there but only when I recovered the original file from the trash. Are you sure I can delete this music folder, it tells me that the operating system needs it.
Let me know if this is correct, I opened ITUNES with the option button down, selected my flash drive, opened the music folder, selected ITUNES as the new redirect for the library. Then I went into my home, found the Music folder, found the ITUNES folder, deleted it. Seems to work ok....I haven't emptied my trash though....let me know
