Can't connect POD X3L to MBP

Hey. I recently bought an MBP. I installed all drivers required to run Line6 Pod X3 Live, but my computer doesn't recognize it at all, i.e. nothing changes when I connect X3L through USB.

Any suggestions?

It's quite important for me, as I've got no other means of recording guitar :/

Macbook Pro 15.4" 2.53GHz i5, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Plug it in, turn it on then open garageband and choose the interface in Garageband>Preferences>Audio Midi. Then create a new "REAL" instrument track. You then have to choose the correct channel in the track info window.

The problem is that the interface itself doesn't get recognized at all

Well, the USB dongle is quite specific in one end and only one is supplied. And it works well on my Windows machine (on which I cannot rely for recording)

Apparently, something's wrong with the USB plug - it doesn't work when plugged in fully, yet works well when inserted like 3/4 of it
