Iphone4 Text Messaging Help

I have a new Iphone4

When I delete my text messages, they store in the hard drive. How do I delete them.

If from your front screen you slide from left to right, this brings up I phone Search

Type in anyone you have sent a text to and it brings up all your old deleted items. I do not want to keep these so how can I get rid for good

Any help is appreciated

You cannot unless you restore as new or erase all content and settings.

will i lose everything off my phone if i do this, contacts, games etc

Yes.

Everything that is on your iphone should be on your computer. You could just sync it back.

Why not just leave it be?

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I have an Iphone 4 which I have had for just over a month and it has always worked fine up to a couple of weeks ago every so often on my messages when you click on the mesaage symbol and can see all the people who have sent you a message in your inbox the send bar or the keyboard has started appearing on the inbox screen over the top of all my messages so when I click out of it and back onto it the bar is still there.
I don't know if it is a common fault or not or if it is maybe something to do with softwear but I would like to get to the bottom or the fault as I have this phone on contract until 2013.
Please can someone help me?
I'm really in need of some help.
