iPhone 4 vers. 4.21 can't sync with non-upgradable 9.21 iTunes
Thanks to a failed LCD screen not registering on my old 3G, I picked up a new iPhone 4 last night which has iOS 4.21 pre-installed.
I'm running OS 10.4.11 on my Powerbook of some six years. The software is as high as I can go as far as I know (it's pre-Intel).
Unfortunately, my iTunes--vers. 9.21--won't let me access anything, displaying the message "iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later." I can't run the 10.x version because it requires a higher OS which again, I can't run due to hardware limitations.
I tried using my computer's bluetooth connection to see about bypassing some of these issues. It found the phone, but it said the phone had "compatibility issues", despite the fact it's saying it's giving me access to my address book--but not allowing any data through.
Now according to the official iTunes 9.21 download site ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056), it's 10.4.11 compatible, and allows iPhone 4 access.
Any possible solutions other than "upgrade your OS"?--because 1. I'm beyond broke--the phone tapped into finances I didn't want to touch and 2. I can't upgrade on my computer as is.
