If the apps were originally purchased with your dad's iTunes account, it has to be the account used to update the apps.
To sign out of the account go to Settings --> Store --> Sign Out
You should then be able to sign in with a new account, but again, the apps being updated have to be updated with the original account.
I got it OK the apps I downloaded from an account I can't update it unless I'm logged in that account. So in order to update apps that were downloaded using multiple accounts it would be annoying to log in & out many times!
I'm still trying to change the iPad account though not the store but the account itself so that I transfer the purchases. How do I change the iPad account & not the store account?

The apple retail store said after you submit the email of your ipad the only solution is to format it
Your iPad does not have an email address.
You will need to add a CC card to verify your account. The CC info can then be removed and the account used normally.
It would likely be easier to simply update the apps on the computer then sync the iPad.
iTunes can be authorized for all accounts then all apps can be updated at once.
Ok I have figured things out I can't transfer purchases because they were purchased by a specific email. I can't believe how naive was that apple retail store staff he suggested I format it!
This is what I did I simply deleted all the free apps & downloaded them via my account. But the purchased accounts remain with my dad since it is purchased within his credit card.
