case is STUCK!

i have an uncommon case for iphone 4 - the model is called "deflector." i have sore thumbs and fingers because i just cannot seem to get the darn thing off! any tips on how to get it off? i've heard of sticking the phone in the freezer, but i'm not one to go to extremes...
