Hi, I just got my new iPhone 4 and I found that once I activated the passcode, I cannot turn off the passcode feature. Each time I enter the Passcode, the Turn Off Passcode button is greyed out and I cannot turn the feature off. Is this a bug or is this by design ?
It's likely that a configuration profile was pushed to your iPhone from the Trust Digital product that disables the ability to disable the passcode unlock. This can be done by Exchange also.
Well Trust Digital seem to be about policy management so at a guess your employer has stipulated that a passcode is required. That's the most likely reason why you can't turn it off. wjosten was asking about Exchange because that's a popular method of doing the same.
The passcode requirement has been made by your employer through a configuration profile installed on your phone. If you attempt to delete this profile, your IT dept. will be alerted. This is not unusual, most employers who provide access to company data want that data protected. The requirement of a passcode is one way to protect that data.
