Don't want to use a Passcode and Don't want Picture Frame!

It is a mystery to me why these two things are tied together. I've read that to disable the Picture Frame feature, you can turn it off through the Passcode setting. True. BUT - if you want to turn Passcode off, the Picture Frame automatically turns on again. Can someone please explain how to completely remove or deactivate the Picture frame without having to enter a Passcode every time I want to use the iPad. This is definitely a design flaw and a nuisance. Thanks in advance.

Okay - I don't know what's up with the back and forth between the previous posters - but I still have this problem I am still looking for legitimate help. I have the 64 gig with 3G. Had it about 2 weeks. All software is up to date. I have spent the past few hours searching the web to solve this issue, and it seems that several other people have shared my frustration. So I am not making this up, I am not the only one with this issue.

Again, as I mentioned in my first post, the Picture Frame icon returns to the unlock screen automatically every time I turn off the passcode lock. Yes Picture Frame is turned off in the preferences, but that darn little flower icon shows up again in the lower right corner of the lock screen.

I have found 2 workarounds for this. 1. Delete all photos from the iPad.(This is what I'm currently doing, but it seems like overkill.) 2. Create an album in iPhoto with a black or blank image and select that album to play in the Picture Frame preferences.

Again, this bothersome and I can't imagine there isn't away to remove this feature from the iPad. I can't seem to do it in iTunes. If anyone can offer any real help, I would really appreciate it.

This is NOT what you stated originally. You stated that Picture Frame was on. It is NOT on. The flower icon is the Picture Frame on/off switch.

Grammatical debates between some posters aside.... gothamgirl is absolutely correct in her observations.

On my iPad this morning, I have gone into Settings, Passcode Lock, turned off Picture Frame first, then turned off Passcode Lock. This capability, to disable, is described in the iPad IOS 4User Guide, chapter 6, page 66.

When I do that and then wait for my iPad to go back to the Lock Screen, and touch the Home Button, the flower icon does still appear... *and if I touch it,* the Picture Frame turns on and begins to show me my photos (despite it being turned off in Passcode Lock settings).

However, gothamgirl.... if I just Slide to Unlock, and don't touch the flower icon, I don't have to see the Picture Frame slide show, I can use the iPad however I choose. So..... don't you think this can work for you, to just ignore the icon?

How about this workaround?
Don't touch the icon to launch the picture frame application.

Everyone here seems to be missing the point. I'm the same as gothamgirl-i want the **** icon removed so i dont have to see it.It's annoying and the option should be mine to view it or not-not Apples. As to -well just dont touch it-that applies to a lot of things in life-sadly quite often when you swipe across you do touch it. It didnt used to be there and it only appeared when i suddenly had a picture stored in the Ipad. In settings it appears as if you can turn it off but in fact you cant. And thats where gothamgirl and i both wonder how people here said it could be turned off when it cant-no news is better than incorrect news
