Export Video DIVX

Hi all and Happy New Year.

Some days ago I bought a DIvx Pro 7 for Mac for export a movie into Imovie 11. The problem is that I can't export with a divx codec in the list window of imovie. Someone know how I can do it?

Ciao

Hi.

I have same problem now. First I had Divx Converter trial version in my computer to do mov->avi conversions, but after trial-period was over I bought Quick Time Pro - divx was available in the iMovie export with QuickTime and I was able to export divx files (with configurable settings). Then I removed the out-dated Divx Converter and Divx Player (came in same package) and then I noticed divx export stopped working. Also directly from Quick Time Pro. I realized that the divx codec was also removed with removal of Divx Converter/player. So I reinstalled the free Divx package (included divx converter, player and divx codec pro 6 month trial) and got divx conversion working in QuickTime Pro, but the export to divx did not reappear into iMovie!

Can you experts help here - is there some library file that needs some update or do I have to reinstall iMovie (I did re-install QuickTime 7) or what would do the trick to make divx export available in the iMovie Quick Time export?

So what you're saying is at one time DivX did appear in the QuickTime Export settings when you would do a Share Menu > export to QuickTime from inside of iMovie?

DivX would only show up as an option under QuickTime as one of the many 'codecs' you could choose. It wouldn't appear as a Share Menu option like Export Movie...Share to iDVD, Share to Facebook, etc. It will only appear when you Export to QuickTime.

My target is to be able to save the iMovie project directly into divx format. Now I have to first save file into QuicTime format (.mov - which takes a while...) and then convert it again from .mov to .avi (divx) with QuickTime Pro (QuickTime 7). I don't anymore remember for sure how did I manage to create the divx directly from iMovie, but I think it was from Share->QuickTime and then I had divx codec as one option. Now cannot find it anywhere. I hope I expressed myself this time a bit better...
