Java for OSX 10.4.11

Question

Java for OSX 10.4.11

Hi

I had difficulty uploading jpg images using Firefox and Camino.

I am advised to get the latest Java.

I seem to have Java 1.4.2 (11.9.0).

There is also something called JavaPluginCocoa.bundle, but it says there is no default application to open it.

Do I need to open it?

Have I got the up to date version of Java for 10.4.11?

I would appreciate any advice

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Have I got the up to date version of Java for 10.4.11?

Open J2SE 5.0 in Applications>Utilities>Java>, see what versions you have and if they are checked.

Java Updates must be done in order, but a couple of other links to look at...

Open J2SE 5.0 in Applications>Utilities>Java>, see what versions you have and if they are checked.

- I did this.

It has J2SE 1.4.2 (unchecked)
J2SE 5.0 (checked)

I did not download Java 2_SE_5_0_Release1 because it is from April 05.
This predates my iMac (August 05).

I downloaded J2SE 5_0_Release_4__PPC and Java for_Mac_OS_X_10_4__Release9.

When I open utilities/Java preferences, I don't see any reference to them.

Is there something elae I need to do?

I think you must be at the right Java, not in 1.4 at the moment to double check, sorry.

But again, Java Updates need to be done in order... confusing as it is.

Are you still visiting sires that say you need Java 1.5?
