Why do you want to uninstall if it works?

Because the Apple Remote device controls the Computers master volume and not the iTunes volume control being output using AirPlay.

In my response I referred to iTunes volume control (at top of iTunes window) and not the speaker volumes you illustrated. Computer volume is controlled by an Apple remote but not the volume of iTunes app. That is - unless this app is installed.

I must be missing something then, what is it that I can't do with iTunes that you can do with another app. Sorry if I appeared rude.

If you mean the system volume, it's contolled from the desktop menu, I guess there must be a reason you prefer an alternative, but it's not making itself all that obvious to me.

An Apple remote:

controls the master volume of the computer.

It will not control the iTunes slider top left of iTunes window:

iTunes can be sent to external speakers, as is my case using the speaker control bottom right of iTunes window thus:

but the volume of these speakers can not be controlled by the Apple remote:

The remote will only control the volume from the computer's own speakers, or speakers physically plugged into the audio output jack of the computer, of which I have none.

In summary: the remote will not control this slider unless the aforementioned app is installed:

The first post in this chain explains the issue, the only difference is the fact that I am using a remote to control volume and not the keyboard.

I think I see now, your remote speakers are not in another room.

I love your app, but I tried using it on a different user account than my main account on my mac, and it said I couldn't. Now your app is missing from the app store so I don't even know where to contact you or find tech support. What's happening?

I have crated a little app that should help to control the volume of itunes with keyboard hotkeys. In addition, it allows one to use the Apple remote as well to control iTunes volume instead of the general one.

You can download the app iTunes Volume Control here https://github.com/alberti42/iTunes-Volume-Control. It is for free.

This is basically an extended, free version of Volume for iTunes.
